My first holiday as an adult was to Miami, partly because Will Smith made it sound like the place to be. My best friend and I heard the music, saw the energy, felt the vibe and thought, “Why not?” That trip became more than a holiday. It was an example of how Black culture can open you up to new experiences. new places and a more elevated way of living.
